• Listed on: Nasdaq (NFLX)

• Sector: Streaming entertainment

• Netflix is a subscription streaming service operating in most global markets.

• It has added an advertising-supported tier and cracked down on password sharing to expand its paying base.

• Content spending is the dominant cost line and a key variable in its margin story.

• Subscription fees across four regions generate nearly all revenue.

• Advertising, from its ad-supported tier, is a fast-growing line.

• Live events and games are newer additions.

• You get price exposure to the underlying instrument.

• You do not get shareholder voting rights.

• Dividend or distribution treatment depends on the issuer's structure and is often not passed through.

• You take on issuer and custodian risk in addition to the price risk of the underlying.

Pros:

• It is the largest global subscription streaming service.

• Advertising and price increases support revenue growth.

• Scale lets it spread content costs over more subscribers.

Cons:

• Content spending is a large ongoing cost.

• Competition for viewing time is intense.

• Subscriber growth may slow in mature markets.

• Counterparty risk: if the issuer or custodian fails, the backing may not be recoverable.

• Tracking risk: the token price can diverge from the underlying, particularly outside US market hours when the underlying does not trade.

• Liquidity risk: on-chain liquidity is thinner than the underlying market, so spreads can widen sharply.

• Regulatory risk: India does not yet have a settled framework for tokenised equities, and tax treatment remains unclear.

• Price risk specific to the underlying instrument.
