Lumia

• Lumia is a Layer 2 for real-world asset tokenisation, covering issuance through to liquidity.

• It aggregates liquidity across chains so tokenised assets are tradeable rather than stranded.

• LUMIA is the network token.

• Converted from the earlier Orion Protocol token.

• Used for gas, staking and governance.

Pros:

• Addresses liquidity, which is the practical failure point for most tokenised assets.

• Inherits infrastructure and relationships from the Orion build.

• Full lifecycle coverage rather than issuance alone.

Cons:

• Rebranding from Orion introduced holder discontinuity.

• Tokenised asset liquidity depends on demand that has not yet materialised at scale.

• Competes with several RWA-focused chains.

• Exposure to RWA infrastructure focused on the liquidity problem specifically.

• Existing engineering base from the predecessor project.

• Weigh that liquidity depends on demand still developing.

• Aggregated cross-chain liquidity for tokenised assets, addressing the fact that most tokenised assets have no secondary market.

• Tokenised real-world assets are issued and then cannot be traded, because each sits in an isolated pool.

• Aggregating liquidity across chains gives them a market.

• Evolved from Orion Protocol, founded by Alexey Koloskov.

• Backed by ecosystem investors.

• Orion tokens were distributed through earlier sales; LUMIA entered circulation through conversion.

• Rebrand and conversion can strand holders.

• Tokenised asset demand has not scaled as expected.

• Competition among RWA chains.

• Liquidity aggregation depends on assets existing to aggregate.
