Humanity Protocol

• Humanity Protocol verifies that a user is a unique human using palm recognition, without storing identifying data.

• It is built as a zkEVM Layer 2 on Polygon's chain development kit.

• H is the network token.

• Supply allocated across community, ecosystem and investors.

• Used for network fees, staking and governance.

Pros:

• Proof of personhood has clear demand as AI-generated accounts proliferate.

• Palm recognition is less invasive than iris scanning, which faces regulatory bans in several countries.

• Zero-knowledge design means the biometric itself is not stored.

Cons:

• Biometric identity systems face regulatory prohibition in multiple jurisdictions regardless of the privacy design.

• Requires physical verification infrastructure, which limits how fast it can scale.

• Competes against a much larger incumbent in the same category.

• Exposure to proof of personhood, a problem that grows as AI content scales.

• Palm recognition sidesteps some of the regulatory objections to iris scanning.

• Weigh that biometric identity attracts regulatory attention wherever it operates.

• Palm-based proof of personhood with zero-knowledge verification, avoiding both iris scanning hardware and biometric storage.

• Distinguishing real people from bots and duplicate accounts is increasingly impossible online.

• A verified uniqueness credential solves it, provided people accept biometric enrolment.

• Founded by Terence Kwok, who previously founded Tink Labs.

• Backed by Animoca Brands, Pantera Capital and Blockchain Capital.

• No public ICO. Distributed through airdrop and ecosystem allocations in 2025.

• Biometric data collection is restricted or prohibited in several jurisdictions.

• Physical verification infrastructure limits scaling speed.

• A larger competitor holds the incumbent position in proof of personhood.

• Regulatory positions on biometric identity are tightening rather than loosening.
