Fluent

• Fluent is an Ethereum Layer 2 that runs contracts from different virtual machines together in one execution environment.

• Solidity, Rust and WebAssembly contracts can call each other directly without bridging.

• BLEND is the network token.

• Supply allocated across community, ecosystem and contributors.

• Used for gas and network security.

Pros:

• Blended execution removes the need to choose one language ecosystem.

• Developers can use Rust tooling while remaining Ethereum-compatible.

• Composability across virtual machines is genuinely novel.

Cons:

• Multi-VM execution is complex and expands the surface for consensus bugs.

• Developer demand for cross-VM composability is asserted rather than demonstrated.

• Early stage in a crowded Layer 2 field.

• Exposure to a technically distinct approach to execution.

• Rust support broadens the developer pool beyond Solidity.

• Weigh whether cross-VM composability is a need developers actually have.

• Contracts written for different virtual machines calling each other directly within one execution environment, with no bridge between them.

• Choosing a chain means choosing a language ecosystem, and applications cannot use libraries from another.

• Running multiple virtual machines together removes the choice, at the cost of consensus complexity.

• Founded by Dino Rodriguez and Lyle Kim.

• Backed by Polychain, Cumberland and Symbolic Capital.

• No public ICO. Distributed through ecosystem and community allocations.

• Multi-VM complexity increases consensus bug risk.

• Developer demand for the feature is unproven.

• Crowded Layer 2 market.

• Early stage with limited ecosystem.
